Looking back over the past decade gives us a great deal of satisfaction at what we at Pioneer Group have achieved as a real estate corporate house. Though looking back has never been our style yet, we have looked back – to do a self-introspection, to analyze our strengths and build on them for the exciting journey that lies ahead.

Business in the new globalized economy is all about reaching out to the emerging markets and getting a competitive edge in the existing markets with better understanding of new variables. This requires an integrated approach for both horizontal and vertical operational synergy across various segments. True to its name, the group pioneered organized real estate marketing and consultancy in the eastern part of the country by providing comprehensive solutions benefitting the developer, the investor and the buyer fraternity.

In the last 25 years, we have successfully made 15000 families happy by providing them their dream home besides other realty properties of their choice worth Rs. 3000 crores. We hold the highest market share of eastern India’s real estate business with more than 100 mixed-use housing projects on offer including residential, commercial and retail projects comprising about one crore square feet of space. We have achieved this growth with our professional knowledge and resources, without any foreign collaboration. In the near future, we hope to achieve the yearly sales figure of Rs. 1000 crores and would also spread our wings by opening our branches in all the metro cities of the country.

Our Heritage :

The roots of the PIONEER GROUP date back to 1920’s during the British era, when Late Seth Gajanand Khaitan, originating from Rajasthan, settled in Kolkata being attracted by the opportunities for enterprise set up that the city offered. Since then the city has been the home of the KHAITAN family. It was here that the Patriarch of the group started his entrepreneurial career by setting up a commodity trading house to import various commodities including fine clothes.

The journey from being Kolkata’s one of the oldest trading house to a diversified conglomerate started in 1950’s under the able leadership of Late Shri Ratanlal Khaitan, the son of our founder. The group started manufacturing special quality industrial chemicals for Jute, Textile, Rubber, Tea etc. For the next 3 decades, he consolidated the group’s business interest and also brought innovations & excellence in the operations with strict adherence to moral values and business ethics. He also envisaged the present business domain of the group.

In addition to their excellent entrepreneurial tradition, the family has also been keenly involved in religious, cultural and sports activities, apart from discharging its corporate social responsibilities towards our civil society.

This successful entrepreneurial tradition found its true culmination when his two sons, Shri Rajkumar Khaitan and Shri Ravindra Khaitan, after completion of their graduation in commerce in mid 1980’s, joined the family business of chemical industry, where they learnt their first lesson of quality management. In those days the industrial climate was not favorable, work culture was poor – hence facing strong resistance in the way of fast progress. But this did not stop them from moving ahead.

With an entrepreneurial vision coupled with lofty ambitions and hard work, both of them diversified the family business into real estate consultation and development in May 1986 with the formation of the Pioneer Properties. Later in 1992, the energetic youngest brother Shri Jitendra Khaitan joined the group and brought fresh air of innovative ideas. The eldest brother Shri Rajendra Khaitan also joined them leaving behind the chemical industry to share his valuable insights for the betterment of the company.Shri Ramesh Kejriwal also joined them in 1997.

Thus the group of five family members wrote the success story of the Pioneer with their hard work, focused vision, honesty and consistency. Today Pioneer’s achievements are landmarks on the skyline of India.

With Dynamism and evolution the company is setting new goals every year to strengthen the business. The dream of success and eminence of Pioneer Group is now a reality. The group strives to reach the zenith to bring greater effulgence in the coming future.
